言語のレベルは思考のレベルと比例する。子供のころから複数の語学を同時にやっていれば、確かに一見、美しい発音で流暢に言葉を操るように見えても、思考が浅ければ、言葉に中身がなくなるだろう。中途半端な言語を幾つも習得することは、切れぬ包丁を何本も持つようなもどかしいもので、優れた母語の包丁を1本持つ方が、優れた思考を料理できるのは当然だ、と。
